GROUND PROTECTION MATS - SAFE TRAK MAT

Safe Trak mats (2440mm x 1220mm) are one of the best value for money ground protection & access mats on the market and can take weights up to 80 tonnes, although we advise running up to 50 tonnes on medium to soft ground. These durable, heavy duty ground mats have a unique surface, with one side being designed as a non-slip surface for pedestrians and the other as a non-skid deep traction surface for vehicles. These ground protection mats are commonly used for moving large machinery and vehicles over soft ground in construction environments and at large events such as festivals.

DETAILS

Safe Trak Heavy Duty mats can be used over soft or sensitive ground to help transport vehicle loads up to 80 tonnes. Our temporary ground protection mats are essential for the construction, civil engineering and groundwork industries, although they are also very popular in the events sectors to use as temporary driveways and to form parking area ground pads. Most commonly these temporary ground mats are used to both protect and re-enforce the surface below them, whether that be grass, concrete or something else.

Our temporary ground protection mats are manufactured from 100% recycled high density polyethylene (HDPE). These mats are ideal for both short and long term projects providing access for both heavy plant and machinery, but also work personnel and the public. Safe Trak Heavy Duty Ground Mats have strategically positioned hand holes which makes them easy to off-load from trucks or pallets. This also makes moving them around site and installing them by hand much easier, and removes the need for excessive machinery to lay temporary drive ways and ground protection pads.

Safe Trak ground protection mats have a highly engineered with two different surfaces that make the mats suitable for both pedestrian and vehicle access ways. On the one side of the ground mat there is a ‘anti-slip’ surface, this substantially improves the grip and reduces side way slippage, even in the most challenging weather or ground conditions. The other side has a deep traction 'anti-skid' surface, which is especially designed for heavy machinery and large vehicles to drive over.

Safe Trak ground protection mats can be connected together using our simple but yet effective Mat Connector. On muddy or slippery surfaces you may also wish to use heavy duty U pins to fix the ground mats directly to the floor and help to hold them in place when vehicles are driving over them. At 44kg they are also easy to manoeuvre and can be simply installed by two men.

Alternately we also offer a lightweight medium duty ground protection mat, which can take a loading up to 20 tonnes and is more commonly used for light traffic use and pedestrian access. Both the medium duty mat and this heavier duty mat require connectors to hold the mats together. Alternately we do offer a slightly smaller interlocking ground mat known as the Safe Site Floor Mat. These mats slot together using a simple tongue and groove system, making this the simplest temporary ground protection mat to install.

If a heavier duty form of vehicle access reinforcement is required then you may also be interested in our steel road plates. These road plates are commonly used to allow vehicles to pass over gaps in the road, such as trenches, or where repair work is required. As standard steel road plates are slightly bigger than ground protection mats at 2500mm x 1250mm, but they are also used as a temporary ground re-enforcement and access solution.
